Katherine (Kat) Rauenhorst is a dedicated and client-centered attorney with a strong foundation in family, civil, and criminal law. Raised in the Silver Valley of Northern Idaho, she brings a grounded perspective and unwavering work ethic to the legal field—blending small-town values with rigorous academic training. Growing up in a close-knit mining community shaped by resilience and grit, Kat developed a deep appreciation for justice, fairness, and the power of advocacy.

Since joining Bolton Law, PLLC in 2023, Kat has demonstrated a consistent commitment to legal service and client advocacy, particularly in cases requiring nuanced understanding and close collaboration. During the summer of 2024, she gained invaluable experience with the firm, serving as third chair in a multi-week federal criminal jury trial.

As a student at the University of Oregon School of Law, Kat participated in the Domestic Violence Family Law Clinic, where she gained hands-on experience assisting clients with child custody and protective order matters. This work deepened her passion for family law and reinforced her commitment to supporting individuals through complex and emotionally-charged legal processes.

Though a graduate of the University of Oregon School of Law (Class of 2025), Kat enriched her legal education through a visiting student program at the University of Idaho School of Law in Moscow during her final year. There, she earned multiple CALI Excellence for the Future Awards and was named to the Dean’s List for both the fall and spring semesters, reflecting her academic rigor and dedication to the field.

Before attending law school, Kat earned her undergraduate degree from Boise State University, graduating summa cum laude. She also interned at a prosecutor’s office, an experience that provided valuable insight into criminal proceedings and continues to inform her approach to criminal defense and litigation. Outside the office, Kat enjoys golfing, cooking and baking, hunting, and spending time with her family, including her dog, Ozzy Pawsbourne.
